Childress Engineers was formed in 1963 as Childress and Recer Engineering and Surveying, and specialized in surveying and the design of primary utilities, including rural water supply systems. Over the years the engineering capabilities expanded to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients. In 1990, Childress Engineers chose to incorporate and specialize only in engineering, and continues to offer a wide range of civil engineering services.

Firm founder, Robert T. Childress, Jr., P.E., is a 1953 graduate of Texas A&M University. Continuing in proud Aggie heritage, Childress Engineers is now under the leadership of Benjamin S. Shanklin, P.E. (class of '79) and Robert T. Childress, III, P.E. (class of '89.)
